Assessing the predictive ability of race specific neuropsychological test norms Lead Investigator: Amy Werry Institution : Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center E-Mail : amywerry@pacificu.edu Proposal ID : 1234 Proposal Description: The goal of the proposed research is to build upon a previous paper collaboration with NACC, currently under revision, that quantified the differences between using race specific norms compared to race combined norms for neuropsychological tests in order to determine which method is a better predictor over time. There is concern in the literature that race combined norms will lead to less sensitivity to detect cognitive impairment among groups that perform lower on neuropsychological tests and this study would be able to confirm or refute the concern. We would apply both normative practices to different racial groups and see which is better at predicting cognitive and functional outcomes over 5-10 years, depending on the n's available.
